It’s day 30. A month down. Whew! 30 days into this journey and so far it’s been pretty good. The first week was difficult getting through the withdrawals and then as things eased up and my body stopped trying to wage war with my will to become more healthier, things got better.
The 2nd and 3rd week were pretty easy breezy I have to admit. I feel like part of me is cautious…waiting for the hammer to fall. Can changing our overall lifestyle be this easy? I’m starting to believe that maybe it can. Maybe it’s just having a better attitude about it now. Whereas before I’d get grumpy or frustrated, now I’m just saying ‘okay, let’s just keep rolling with it.’
I used to beat myself up about the stupidest things. And now stepping back, I think ‘why’. There’s no reason for it.
If I eat something bad or I miss a workout day, you know what…that’s okay. It’s just a matter of not compounding things and getting back to making healthier choices the next time. Just because I screw up and eat something bad for a meal, doesn’t mean the rest of the day is shot and to give myself permission to go ahead and gorge myself in junk food the rest of the day. Or the infamous statement we’ve all made time and time again when we say “I’ll start again Monday.”
Every day is Monday.
Every meal is the first meal on Monday.
If you eat something bad, that’s fine because it’s Monday and you get a do-over to do it right the next time you put something in your body.
It’s about trying to live better and to never stop trying.
