Day 67 and it’s Thursday! Whoo hoo…one more day closer to the weekend. Ok, so let’s get right to it…I’m one sore bleep bleep bleepity bleep! I warned you yesterday that I would be swearing today! 😉
In all seriousness, there have been a few 4 and 5 letter words spewed from my mouth today. Omg…I cannot recall the last time I was so freaking sore. I mean, this is ridiculous. So ridiculous that all I can do it laugh. Ouch…it even hurts to laugh. I feel like I have some demon in my arse hammering each cheek with a sledgehammer. Ok wait, that didn’t sound good. Strike that. Or not. 😉
I have gotten plenty sore before doing legs, but usually it was just my hamstrings, quads, inner thighs, and calves…which mind you, was sore enough when it came to the hamstrings and quads. Now, it’s all those PLUS the added wonderful benefit of my glutes. In other words, yes my ass is killing me!
Note to self: When doing lunges and squats for the first time in many MANY years…start off using just your body weight and move up to using weights.
So unfortunately, due to my walking around like a bowlegged penguin, I did not workout today. 🙁 Grrr. That’s fine, it’s just a little bump in the road. I seriously doubt it will be the last. I’ll hope to drive forward tomorrow with at least going to the gym and doing upper body strength training. I don’t need my legs for that…only for waddling from machine to machine. 😉
And with that, let’s get on to Day 67’s grub:
Day 67 Menu and Activities
- 2 large brown eggs (cage-free or free range), cooked medium
- 1 grilled pork loin chop
- 1 cup blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries (organic, if possible)
- 1 cup coffee, black
- 1 tsp fish oil
- Large Salad
- mixed greens
- 1/2 avocado
- shredded medley (broccoli, carrots, cabbage)
- Balsamic Vinegar, drizzled
- Bay Scallops, sauteed in ghee with chopped bacon and roasted garlic
- Zucchini zoodles
- 1 Gallon (1/2 gallon was with freshly squeezed lemon juice)
- Bad sleep because I was…SORE
Overall Feelings: So yeah, I’m not feeling the greatest today. I mean, for the most part…I’m still doing great, but considering how sore I am and that I missed a workout day because of it…yeah, it puts me in a little bit of a downer. I know it’s just temporary, but considering the diet bet competition just started, I would have rather this happened AFTER that…or not at all would have been nice too. 😉 I totally underestimated the difference between weight machines and free weights, and not to mention…introducing new exercises. Especially new exercises that your body has not done in several years.
Oh well, lessen definitely learned. Tomorrow is another day and I will just keep trying to truck along the best I can. Like they say, “Suck it up, Buttercup!”
