Day 68 and it’s Friday! TGIF! I’m so happy it’s Friday. Though I had a pretty productive day at work, I’m still glad the week is over. It’s supposed to be an absolutely beautiful, but hot, weekend here in San Diego and I plan on enjoying as much as I can of it.
Well, as much as my sore arse and legs will let me. Hopefully they will feel far better tomorrow. This is the second day now that I have not been able to go for my 4 mile evening walk/run. I almost didn’t make it to the gym this morning either. However, the voices in my head battled it out and the healthy fitness voice was the victor. 😉 Pretty much, I told myself to get my arse out of bed because there is nothing wrong with my upper body and if I have to waddle around like a penguin from weight machine to weight machine, so be it.
So…that’s what I did. 😉
In all honesty, I probably didn’t have the greatest of strength training sessions. I kind of worked on all the main upper body groups. You know what though, the most important thing…is that I dug deep and DID IT! That’s all the focus needs to be on. 🙂
And with that, let’s get on to Day 68’s grub:

Overall Feelings: Today is Friday, so it’s kind of hard not to be in a good mood…and even though I didn’t make it on my 4 mile evening trek, I still forced myself out of my bed this morning to do weight training. It wasn’t a total loss of a day and I was super productive at work this week, so even though it wasn’t the perfect workout week for me, it was definitely still a productive week in other areas. Everything is connected too. It all plays a part in my overall well-being and how I am feeling.
NOTES: So yeah, I think you might have picked up that I had a cheat meal. My pseudo-stepdaughter had a varsity lacrosse game this evening, so it was late by the time the game ended and we all were starving. I made the conscious decision to suggest Red Robin and needless to say, everyone was game for that.
The worse part of my meal were the steak fries, which I dipped in ranch dressing and I ate plenty of them. Again though, this isn’t how I normally eat now, so I did it without a ton of punishing guilt and knew that I would eat clean again starting with my next meal.
I’ve learned that this is a far more successful mindset for me to sustain my healthy lifestyle. There’s nothing wrong with occasional indulges. It’s the compound effect that hurts us. If my willpower wasn’t back on track to where I can easily say to myself, “Okay, there you go…hope you enjoyed it, now let’s get back to eating something more healthy”, I wouldn’t do it.
