Day 81. Whoo hoo, it’s Thursday, which means one more day of work before the weekend. It’s going to be another busy weekend, however I took off Monday so I should be able to get in a little rest. Saturday I will probably be doing a bit of spring cleaning and then Sunday is the big move for my friends into their home. The same friends where I spent all weekend last week painting. I’m excited for them.
So yeah, I took off Monday. 😉
I’m a bit sore from yesterday’s leg workout. I know I would be, but luckily, not even close to how sore I was a couple weeks ago. This is a more tolerable sore and I keep trying to stretch it out. I did decide to go ahead and take this morning off from the weight training though, but I have all intentions of doing my late afternoon 4 miles.
It will be back to the weight training grind tomorrow where I will just do a mix of everything, as well as some stretching.
So, let’s get on to Day 81’s grub:
Day 81 Menu and Activities
- Banana Pancakes (paleo) topped with blended strawberries and blueberries
- 1 cup coffee, black
- 1 tsp. Fish Oil
- Paleo Banana/Blueberry Muffiin
- Large Salad
- mixed greens
- grilled chicken breast
- hard-boiled egg
- ranch dressing, lightly drizzled
- Sweet Potato
- Cardio – 4 mi. walk/run outside (inclines, declines, straightaways)
Dinner (leftovers from Day 80):
- Slow Cooker Pork Roast with Kraut
- Sautéed Yellow Squash
- 1 Gallon +
- Renewed Energy
- No Sluggishness
Overall Feelings: I felt really good today. Besides the bit of soreness in my legs, mainly the inner hamstrings area which was probably caused by the lunges, I’m doing better than yesterday. I was really happy with my walk/run today. I beat my time again. Not by much, but I still beat it. I was slightly frustrated because I would have beaten it more if it wasn’t for getting stuck at a traffic light a few times. One particular light seemed to take far longer than it usually does, so I was a bit irritated. Ha! Don’t they know I have goals dang it! 😉
Regardless, I felt good on the route today and my energy was much better.
NOTES: So I can safely say that adding the sweet potato to my afternoon snack again REALLY helps sustain me through my walk/run. That’s probably going to be my staple afternoon snack during the week. I’ll also be starting up with drinking a post-workout shake again starting Monday. I should be getting it in the mail on Friday or Saturday. It’s a grass-fed clean whey protein concentrate by Promix Nutrition that I read about on amazon.com. It has awesome reviews, so we’ll see how it goes.
