I love tacos. Whether they are beef, chicken, pork, turkey, or fish…I absolutely love tacos. What I don’t love, are the taco packets that you buy at the store filled with god knows what. Preservatives. Sugar. Things that just aren’t that healthy.
I was on the hunt for a good healthy taco seasoning that I could really enjoy. One that was packed with flavor and didn’t contain any sugars or non-paleo approved items.
I found it and I love it. The other thing I love about it, is that you can tweak it here and there adding a little more or a little less of each ingredient to alter the taste or have certain ingredients stand out more.
However, here’s the base to start with:
4 teaspoons chili powder
3 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons black pepper (preferably fresh cracked)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon red chili flakes
Mix all ingredients together.
Use 2 tablespoons of seasoning with 1/2 cup of water per lb. of meat of choice.
